BEST RAPPER ALIVE.... HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!

This song " He's a Mental Giant" just dropped today from my favorite rapper that is still alive... TECH N9NE!!!!!

Born This Way..

So I am not going to do a full review of this album but just what I think are the highlights and yes, low lights as well.  First off this album is really good, but it's not as good as everyone thinks it is.  Don't get me wrong, Lady Gaga is total freak show and I love her for that, being different that is, but some of the songs are just rather... blah...

First the Highlights:  Government Hooker is a awesome song and very radical in its lyrical content.  The first track "Marry The Night" should haven been one of the singles since its very up beat and dancable.  The best song on the album in my opinion is "Edge of Glory"  I have a few thoughts about this song, one is that her next album is going to be the best one that she will ever do.  I say this because this is the last song on this album and I think its the strongest track on the album, by far, hands down.

Low Lights:  I really don't like talking badly about bands since they are in one and I am not, but I can give my opinion.  I am rather tired of Lady Gaga saying her own name in mostly all the songs on the first album she put out and I was rather happy that she only said it once or twice in the entirety of "Born This Way".  My other gripe is her basically stealing melodies from the Diva of all Divas; Madonna.  "Born This Way" sounds a lot alike to Madonna's song "Express Yourself".  I haven't even listen to Madonna since the early 90's and I could hear it.  Go Youtube it and if you disagree place leave a comment.

Summation: 4/5 since I really like Lady Gaga and her new album is rather good, I just don't think she will leave a musical mark on the industry like Madonna has.

Lady Gaga Online Leak..

5 days before the new Lady Gaga record "Born This Way" is going to be released, someone leaked it to the inter webs.  I don't foresee this stopping the diva from racking in the sells since most people who love her will be buying in on iTunes or have pre ordered it.

Kim Kardashian Sings...

So Kim Kardashian (left) is now thinking she is going to toss her voice into the horrible music industry and will probably do very well since most people are idiots, but hey, thats just me.  Just like Paris Hiltons tryed and failed in the pop music genre this is something that is just worse or maybe better depending on who you talk to.  This is somewhat horrible on many different levels but that what I think, watch and judge for yourself..

THE DOCTOR IS IN!!!!!!!

Dr. Dre just released the single to what looks like to be the single to the long and awaited "Detox" album!  If you have not heard it yet click here and turn your speakers up because Dre is back!

The Architects Forgot How To Build...

I was turned on to this band from a awesome friend who has guided me though the what I like to call "The Metal Curve", meaning you listen to alot of really crap bands to find the awesome ones.  Hollow Crown was The Architects fourth record, but first to on a major UK label and they killed it!  So when I heard that they were recording a new record I was ultra stoked because of there past work and could not imagine the music they would be coming up with.

So.. let's get into it..

I put it on my ipod and hit play expecting to be slammed with something my ear drums could not take and maybe even succeed the opening track off of Hollow Crown Early Graves, but all i got was disappointment track after track.

Day In Day Out is the opening track and just really lacks the strength of the band that I once knew.  Most of the track is singing, not that I have a problem with that, but for a band to go from metal to screamo is just hard to fathom since there debut record was just a massacre.  I will admit that most of the songs on this album start out really good, but then it just disappoints after that or somewhere in between.  I know that bands develop and that might change there sound, but this album sounds nothing like there past records and I think thats what the fans were expecting.. well this fan was.

Summation: 3/5 because I can see this band coming back from this album and making another solid album or they will just turning into yet another screamo..

Thunder Thursday: The Black Dahlia Murder

This song is just killer..  Turn it up and give your brain a good shake!

Dr. Dre's Detox.... 4/20?!?!?!

So yeah, I love rap so this came as no surprise that Dr. Dre could be releasing his much anticipated "Detox" album on 4/20.  I sincerely hope that Andre Romelle Young keeps to his original "Old Skool" ways because like my mother always has said "You can't spell crap without rap" and that what I believe that the hip/hop scene has gone.  I love the sample of the into from Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode" because it come from a very killer jazz/funk/experimental musician named David Axelrod's song called "The Edge" ( Click To Hear Original Song).

So let's keep our fingers crossed for some new tunes from the Doctor..

Music Review # 15: Dubside of the Moon

I did not want to review this album because I can not find the words to convay the bassness of this record, so I tryed my best and this is what I came up with..

When I was told by a co-worker that there was a Reggae/Dub tribute to the masterpiece Darkside of the Moon by Pink Floyd I had instant doubt that it would be any good.  Since I am a music lover and can't pass up writing a review on someone that has massacred the best selling record of all time, I had to see what it was all about.  The Easy Star All-Stars is the very daring band that has taken the challenge to redo this epic record.

Let's Get Into It....

From the starting of the album you hear bong hits, people chocking on the smoke, people laughing and a bongo and then screaming just like in the album but then it takes a much faster pace when "Speak to Me & Breathe" hits but it is just the beginning.  "On the Run" I will admit is one of the coolest sequences of the album since they Dub the ever living hell out of it.  "Time" starts out with clocks but then has the sounds of trumpets and a coo-coo clock added into it. One of my favorite tracks on the original album is "The Great Gig in the Sky" with that amazing woman's voice solo, this is the only track I am not so sold on with Dubside since the original is just so mind blowing, you really can't top it.  "Money" starts out with a lighter flick, a bong hit, a guy chocking on the hit and then they loop it out of order over and over again until the guitar rifft hits, very cool intro.  "Us an Them" is fabulous, the saxophone, organ and harmony in this one keeps you guessing and it keeps it very interesting on what direction they are taking the songs.  "Any Colour You Like" is a ray of color indeed.  When I hear this track, I have a hard time keeping my eyes open because of all the awesome colors I can see when this song is playing.  The horns rule this song.  "Brain Damage" is one out of only a few songs that they have kept the same rhythm as the original recording, I am not complaining, I am just making it known that The Easy Star All-Stars didn't go to out of the loop.  "Eclipse" is just amazing, with the female singers, bongos, organs its the shortest song on the album, but still nothing but nothing short of awe...

Summation: 5/5 for first not destroying a timeless record and second for not being afraid to change up some of the songs and making them there own.

Favorite songs: All

Wednesday Wake Up... Bleed The Sky

I am a huge fan of this band..  Yeah it has some singing but its not cheesy like most of the bands that have singing/screaming in it, plus the music is just emaculate.  Turn this up and just go all out!  Enjoy...
